Friday Plot Swap
Dawn's Plot Swap
Have a plot? Leave one
Need a plot ? Take one
Ever heard of Texts from Last Night?
While some of the post are quite disturbing, they would definitely make for an interesting plot.
Here are a few that got my mind working:
(203): Just signed my boyfriend up on a dating website so I could officially have a reason to leave him for my hot neighbor. http://tfl.nu/o6bb

(703): Just woke up wearing a top hat and simpsons boxers. i also found more money in my wallet then what i had before going out, about $1000 more http://tfl.nu/zuqw

(541): my math teacher staples burger king applications to failed tests http://tfl.nu/dcsh

So, Swap with me.
Read any great texts lately?

Hahaha!! I love 541! I love a good sense of humor.

I'm a boring stay at home mom/wife, so nothing truly interesting happens all that often. And I clear my phone out pretty frequently. Right now the most interesting texts aren't really:

"Kira loves pork rinds." w/ photo.

"How random and adorable."

The background... sent to my daughter who's in college and Kira is her cat.

541 hilarious!
"I think the mailman is stalking me. He drives by my house every day."

LOL! Love 541! I also love Jessica's mailman stalker. Hilarious!

"LET ME SLEEP"

"Don't give me that look."

"Cuz mommies r all super0:-) its in the contract"

"Look on the balcony"

My texts tend to be boring. Sorry. They're between me and my teenage boys for the most part. But I thought these might be good story prompts.

I get "wrong number" texts pretty regularly from a disgruntled ex-wife.

She says things like, "Johnny needs money for the dentist."
And then a few days later: "You are the worst dad ever, your kids hate you."
I feel kind of bad, but I never reply to tell her she's got the wrong number, because I keep thinking it's some kind of a scam to get me to reply and get my number on some kind of a list.
But it sure makes me think of some interesting plot ideas!
What if you got a wrong number text with a death threat, or better yet, from a hit man confirming he'd just killed someone?
Ooohh...okay, not going any farther with that, I've already got too many WIPS!

Oh, Teri! What fun! You should write down every plot provoking text she sends you. Who knows? You might be able to write a whole book just picking up on her personality. Wouldn't it be fun to get the couple back together? What kinds of obstacles would they have to overcome? Is he really that bad of a dad, or did he just fall on hard times and is working himself to death trying to pay the bills and can't always help is ex out with the kids...at least not as fast as she needs it. Maybe she is exaggerating things because she's insecure. She really wants to know the her ex still loves her, but she's not about to admit it. She needs to learn to depend on God for her needs including her need for her husband. Hmm.... This could be good! ;-)

Wow. I have been away from the computer all day. Y'all came up with some good stuff. I love the idea of text messages from a hit man. Awesome!

I also like Linette's take on Teri's bitter divorcee.

I started getting text one night from some one who was furious with someone else for cheating while they were at Six Flags. I texted back to tell them it was the wrong number and they went off, calling me (well, not really ME) a liar and some other not nice stuff.

Ummm, should you really feed a cat pork rinds?

:) Since it's just fried pork fat, I didn't figure it'd hurt her and she didn't get a whole bunch even though she begged and pleaded.
